Christian Arts UK
"Reclaiming the Arts for Christ", right across the United Kingdom
// Launching July 2026, a sister organisation of Australian Christian Arts
// Our Vision & Mission
Our Purpose
Serve God. Love People. Break divides. Build community.
Our Mission
To build, grow, nourish, and unite God’s Church and His Kingdom through the creative arts, and to reclaim the arts for Christ.
Our Mandate
Kingdom Advancing, Kingdom Uniting, Kingdom Revealing.
Our Vision
/ ONE
To establish, grow, and maintain healthy, world-class, industry-leading Christian creative arts companies across creative disciplines—from ballet to media, to music and theatre—across the United Kingdom, starting in London, Cambridge, and Oxford. Rooted in tradition, on the cutting edge, and trailblazing the Church's ancient legacy of innovation and creation.
// TWO
To form and foster powerful creative communities, where Christians with both talent and character are seen, brought together, and released to serve Jesus at the highest artistic levels—for their community, for their country, and supremely for the Kingdom of God.
/// THREE
To see thousands of people begin, recommence, or recommit to their journey with Jesus through the impact of our concerts, shows, and events—our focus ever remaining on the individual, not on the crowd.
// Launching Christian Arts UK Programs
London Christian Orchestra — Launching 2026
Launching in 2026, the London Christian Orchestra will unite Christian musicians from across denominations to perform sacred and classical repertoire with both artistic excellence and deep spiritual purpose. Through annual concerts, collaborations, and outreach, the Orchestra will provide a platform for musicians to refine their gifts in a supportive, faith-centred community. Rooted in London yet with a vision to inspire across the nation, the Orchestra will contribute to the cultural life of the UK with music that resonates spiritually and artistically.
London Christian Productions — Launching 2026
London Christian Productions will serve as the vital logistical and operational foundation for all Christian Arts UK activities. From venue booking to stage management, sound, lighting, and publicity, the Productions team will ensure that every Orchestra and Choir event runs with excellence and precision. Its mission is to carry the practical load behind the scenes so that the creative and spiritual work of our ensembles can flourish, enabling high-quality Christian arts experiences to reach wider audiences across London and beyond.
London Christian Choir — Launching 2026
Launching alongside the Orchestra, the London Christian Choir will bring together singers from diverse church traditions who share a passion for faith and music. The Choir will perform a wide-ranging repertoire, from classical choral works to contemporary Christian music, in concerts, worship gatherings, and joint performances with the Orchestra. More than just a choir, it will be a community of encouragement, discipleship, and shared mission, giving singers an environment to grow their gifts and bring messages of hope and unity to the UK through song.
Looking Ahead — Youth Ensembles & New Horizons - Launching 2027+
In 2027, Christian Arts UK will launch a Youth Orchestra and Youth Choir in London, nurturing the next generation of Christian musicians. From there, we plan to expand our programmes into Oxford and Cambridge, establishing hubs of creativity and discipleship in two of the nation’s great cities. Future plans also include the founding of the English Christian Ballet, a bold initiative to reclaim the art of dance as a vessel for beauty, truth, and the Gospel.
// Our Missional Mandate
Christian Arts UK operates with a clear mandate that shapes our mission and activities. This threefold mandate guides our strategic decisions and creative focus.
Kingdom Advancing
We are evangelistic in our approach, using the arts to share the Gospel and expand God's Kingdom through beauty and creative expression.
Kingdom Uniting
We are ecumenical, bringing together Christians from various traditions and denominations through shared artistic experiences and collaborations.
Kingdom Revealing
We reveal Jesus and His beauty through our art, making the invisible God visible through creative expression that points to divine truth.
// We're All About Jesus Christ
Keeping Jesus at the Centre
We are all about Jesus—who He is, what He has done, and what He is still doing today. Everything we do flows from Him, points to Him, and invites others to begin a beautiful journey with Him. We keep each other and our leadership accountable for ensuring that our focus always remains supremely on Him. (Read Colossians 1:15–20)
Christ Crucified
We proclaim Christ crucified—the power of God and the wisdom of God (read 1 Corinthians 1:23–24). At the cross, we see the fullness of His love, the depth of His sacrifice, and the hope of redemption for all who believe. Our focus remains there, where salvation was won and new life begins.
Christ Resurrected
We proclaim Christ risen from the dead—the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep (read 1 Corinthians 15:20). By His resurrection, death has been defeated, and new creation has begun. Our hope and our joy are rooted in the empty tomb, where life triumphed over death and the promise of eternity was secured.
Christ Ascended
We proclaim Christ ascended into heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father (read Mark 16:19). He who humbled Himself on the cross is now exalted above every name (read Philippians 2:9). From there, He intercedes for us (read Romans 8:34) and has poured out the promised Holy Spirit upon His people (read Acts 2:33). Our eyes are lifted to Him, who reigns and will come again in glory.
Christ Returning
We proclaim Christ who will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead (read 2 Timothy 4:1). Just as He ascended, so He will return (read Acts 1:11). We wait in hope for His appearing, when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (read Philippians 2:10–11). Our eyes look forward to the day when He makes all things new (read Revelation 21:5).
// We're Cross-Denominational
We work across traditions, expressions, and theological streams, anchored by a shared belief in Christ and a deep love for His Church. We recognise that beyond the core truths of the Gospel, different Christians hold different convictions.
It's About Christ Alone
Romans 6:4 says "Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life."
This is the Gospel we profess: dead to sin, but alive in Christ through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. This is our focal point, our one and only message.
No Event Is The Same
As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 9:22–23, "To the weak I became weak, so that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I might by any means save some. I do it all for the sake of the Gospel, so that I may share in its blessings."
In the same way, some of our events may be more lively, some more reflective, and others comparatively neutral in tone.
One event does not always set a precedent for the next. It is our aim to weave adaptability into our shared culture, enabling us to reach many kinds of people with the Gospel from event to event.
Statement of Faith
We hold firmly to the foundational beliefs expressed in the Apostles’ Creed: the historic confession that unites Christians across time and tradition. This creed alone acts as our official 'Christian Arts UK Statement of Faith'.
(Read Habakkuk 2:2)
Diversity of Believers
In our gatherings and rehearsals, a Catholic might sit beside a Pentecostal. An Orthodox believer might serve alongside a Baptist. We see this not as a challenge but as a beautiful glimpse of heaven, a chance to learn and glean from one another, and an opportunity to develop greater levels of Christ-like humility as individuals and as a community.
(Read Galatians 3:28)
Unity ≠ Uniformity
Unity is not uniformity. It means holding our own convictions while making room for others. It means valuing the Church not just as 'my tradition', but as part of our shared inheritance in Christ.
(Read 1 Corinthians 12:4, 12)
Which Canon We Use
We use the biblical canon recognised across the broadest range of Christian traditions—the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. This shared foundation gives us a basis for scriptural unity, providing common ground for moments of teaching, prayer, and reflection. We use the New Revised Standard Version Anglicised (NRSVA) due to its broad interdenominational acceptance.
// Who We Are, What We're Not
We're Not a Church
Christian Arts UK is not a church. We are a non-profit Christian arts organisation—and that distinction matters. We are not here to promote or enforce a particular set of denominational doctrines. Instead, our focus is on Christ and the gospel, which we aim to express to the best of our ability through the creative arts.
(Read Matthew 7:16)
We Have a "Creative Company" Model
Think of us less as a church that does the arts and more as a "theatre company" with a Kingdom purpose. We are seeking to build something fit for use by God. To do this, we believe that clarity surrounding who we are called to be, and who we are not, allows us to serve in one accord, for as long as the Lord wills each of us to do so.
(Read Exodus 31:2–5, Exodus 35:30–35 & Exodus 36:1)
// Our Core Values
Our values shape everything we do at Christian Arts UK. They guide our creative processes, our interactions, and our ministry focus.
Fruits of the Spirit
We value love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in our creative processes and relationships.
Imago Dei
We honour the image of God in each person, celebrating the whole body of Christ, each unique part, and individual personality and wiring. We celebrate creativity and sensitivity as a gift from God and as a tool in His hands.
Worship
We firmly believe our events are an act of worship to God, as we create something beautiful in His name. We then want to take that posture of worship into our daily lives, making the smallest moments holy.
Faith & Positivity
We maintain a positive, upward-looking perspective, trusting God in all our creative endeavours. Our faith informs our art, and our art expresses our faith.
Human Connection
We value authentic relationships, fostering environments where fun, laughter, and depth of connection can flourish. We believe art creates unique opportunities for meaningful human interaction.
Pioneer Spirit
At CAUK, we're doing something new, and our vision is global. Therefore, we want every member to participate as pioneering problem-solvers. Everyone takes the initiative, and new ideas are always welcome.
Nuance
We acknowledge, with grace, reason, and intellectual rigour, the numerous nuances that stem from being and continuing to be an ecumenical organisation.
Balance
We seek not to address extremes within our culture, whether church-related or societally, with other extremes. We replace extremes with balance.
Curiosity
We remain curious at all times, rather than quickly passing judgement. We seek to understand before being understood.
These values aren't just principles we aspire to, but the DNA of our organisation, shaping how we create, collaborate, and communicate.
// Our Creative Values
Our approach to creativity balances tradition with innovation, craftsmanship with inspiration, and engages all the senses to create meaningful artistic experiences.
Something Old, Something New
We stay in touch with tradition while pushing boundaries, finding balance between classical and modern approaches to create art that resonates across generations.
Craftsmanship
We value the creative process because it demands significant investment. Anything worthwhile requires such investment, enabling us to hone the skills to create increasingly excellent art and music.
The Senses
We create with attention to the senses, considering visuals, lighting, and aesthetics to craft holistic artistic experiences that engage the whole person. We even ensure our spaces smell great as people walk in.
// Our Distinctive Culture
Our organisational culture shapes how we present ourselves and interact with others. These characteristics define the experience people have when engaging with Christian Arts UK.
Fun
We bring joy and enjoyment to our creative processes and events, believing that artistic expression can be life-giving and delightful.
Warm
We create welcoming environments where people feel valued, accepted, and encouraged in both their faith and their artistic journey.
Excellent
We pursue excellence in all we do, maintaining high standards while remaining accessible and authentic.
Vulnerable
We embrace authenticity and vulnerability, acknowledging our limitations while striving for growth and excellence.
Bold
Whilst remaining respectful, we are unapologetic about what we are doing, who we are, and where we are going. We are willing to take a little flak at times if it means doing something great for God.
Enthusiastic
We approach our work with passion and energy, inspiring others through our genuine excitement for Christ-centred arts.
Encouraging
Our culture is one of encouragement; we look for the good in all things and all people, always. This isn't to say we don't give constructive feedback, but we start by celebrating the positive.
Thankful
We're thankful to God and to others. We rejoice in our mission field, where we can proclaim God's name to a new generation through our events, but it wouldn't be possible without each member who joyfully gives their time and talents.
Honouring
We approach our work and relationships with humility, recognising that our gifts are from God and meant to serve others. We honour upwards, we honour sideways, we honour downwards.
// Our Core Beliefs
Apostles' Creed
We affirm the historic Apostles' Creed as our statement of faith, embracing the essential doctrines that have united Christians throughout the centuries.
Response to Grace
We believe that our creative work is a response to God's grace. Our journey with Christ has a starting point, continues through various moments of growth and challenge, and is enriched by community.
Power of Community
We believe that faith and creativity flourish best in the context of a supportive, Christ-centred community where artists can grow, be challenged, and find encouragement.
Our Heart for Community
"The church is the one place where the artist's vision is most needed, because art is a communal activity" - Makoto Fujimura
// A Safe Home for Christian Artists
The arts world can be isolating—especially for Christians.
Many artists feel they must choose between pursuing their creative gifts and staying rooted in their faith. We say: you don't have to choose.
We provide a safe, Spirit-filled environment where musicians and singers can express their faith, explore their calling, and grow in their gifts—without fear of compromising their values.
Through mentorship, prayer, and worship woven into our rhythm, our artists are not only protected from the pressures of the world—they are discipled to shine within it.
We're raising up creatives who are not just technically skilled—but spiritually grounded.
// A 'Weapon' in God's Hand — Breaking What Divides
We believe Christian Arts UK has been positioned by God as a Kingdom instrument — not of destruction, but of divine disruption. In the spirit of Jeremiah 51, where God says, "You are my war club, my weapon for battle — with you I shatter horse and rider, chariot and driver…" — we have seen God use this ministry to break through the walls that divide the Body of Christ.
In a culture of fragmentation, God is using us to:
Break denominational divides
Calling Catholics, Pentecostals, Anglicans, Baptists, Orthodox, and Independents into unity — not through compromise, but through shared worship and community in Christ.
Break the divide between artists and the Church
Showing creatives that they don't have to choose between their gift and their faith — they can use their creativity for the glory of God in the context of the Christian family.
Break the divide between generations
Raising up young people to walk and serve beside elders, forming friendships and spiritual family across decades of difference.
Break the divide between the Church and the unchurched
Through welcoming, Spirit-filled events that invite the lost into the warmth of community and into the arms of Jesus.
Break the divide between rich and poor, city and suburb
By building one body — where a violinist from the eastern suburbs and a flautist from places like Western Sydney share the same music stand, the same purpose, the same faith.
Like the weapon in Jeremiah's vision, we are not passive — we are active. We are not spectators — we are participants in the Spirit's work to undo division and rebuild unity in the Church of Australia.
We are called to be part of God's reforming work — not by force, but through beauty, truth, and belonging.
// Community That Breaks Down Church Barriers
Whether on stage, in rehearsals, or sitting in the audience—what you'll see is unity: a church united in purpose, even in diversity.
We are building bridges—not walls. The way we gather is a quiet but bold declaration that Jesus is the centre, and His people are stronger when we come together.
Orchestra and Choir
Our orchestra and choir include people from all major Christian traditions: Catholic, Pentecostal, Anglican, Orthodox, Baptist, and more. People who may never worship together on a Sunday are now serving side-by-side every two weeks, praying for one another, sharing meals, and becoming like family.
Audiences
Our audiences are just as diverse, often with entire church communities attending together. They see people from their own and other traditions worshipping and leading together, and it stirs something powerful: hope that the church truly can be one.
We're not just building an orchestra—we're building the kind of church community people long for: united, generous, Spirit-filled, together.
// Community That Welcomes the Lost
We've seen firsthand how the arts create a soft landing for the spiritually curious.
At our concerts, people encounter beauty, meaning, and the presence of God — and they're often moved to tears. Many have prayed the sinner's prayer after events, choosing to follow Jesus for the first time. We follow up personally and help them get planted in a church community through our Church Finder Quiz.
We also welcome non-believers into the orchestra and choir — and time and again, we see walls fall. Many come for the music, but stay for the warmth, the people, and the sense of belonging they can't explain. For some, this is their first experience of Christian love. For others, it's a slow return to the faith they left behind. Either way, the door is open — and they are welcomed in.

We don't pressure people to believe. We simply invite them into community — and let the Spirit do His work.
// Community That Gathers and Grows
Every fortnight or month, 100 people from all walks of life gather—not just to rehearse, but to reconnect, refresh, and realign around what matters most.
Intergenerational
From 18-year-old percussionists to 75-year-old violinists, we model what intergenerational community looks like—shared vision, mutual respect, and deep care.
Socioeconomic Diversity
From the poorest streets to Sydney's most affluent suburbs, we gather as equals. Status falls away.
Denominational Unity
From different churches and even different languages, our members unite with one voice—literally and spiritually.
These gatherings aren't just about art; they're about formation—of character, faith, friendship, and purpose. Members often say it feels more like a life group than a rehearsal, and that's exactly what we want.
// Mentorship That Flows Naturally
Within our musical family, beautiful mentoring relationships blossom organically, creating deep bonds that transcend age and experience.
Our experienced musicians naturally take younger members under their wing, sharing not just musical expertise, but life wisdom and spiritual guidance. A senior violinist might spend time after rehearsal teaching proper technique whilst sharing stories of God's faithfulness in their artistic journey.
Musical Instruction
These relationships deepen naturally through shared practice sessions, where discussions flow freely between musical interpretation and living out faith in the arts world.
Spiritual Mentorship
What begins as musical instruction often transforms into spiritual mentorship, with pairs meeting regularly for prayer, sharing meals, and walking through life's challenges together.
Multi-Generational Family
Many of our younger members have found both artistic mentors and spiritual parents, whilst our experienced members discover renewed purpose in nurturing the next generation of Christian artists.
Through these organic mentoring relationships, we are seeing God knit together a multi-generational family of artists who grow together in both skill and faith.
// One Uniting Belief: 'Every Journey Has a Start'
Christians understand salvation in different ways — some primarily through sacraments, some through theosis, and others through faith and conversion. Yet we can all agree that in one way or another, life with Jesus is a journey, and every journey, by definition, must have a beginning. (Read Philippians 1:6)
Moment of Contrition (Read 1 John 1:9)
At every event, we carve out a moment which some denominations call a 'sinner’s prayer,' in others an act (or prayer) of contrition, or in some, the 'Jesus Prayer.'
Some traditions may not often take the approach of saying such a prayer aloud within their gatherings. However, for us, not being a church, providing people with such a moment is more about the recognition that every journey has a start, so why not at our concert!
We may just have one chance at each concert to help someone start on their 'Jesus journey' — and we want to help them do so, whichever soteriological stance they choose to adopt going forward.
Expression ≠ Stance (Read 1 Samuel 16:7)
When we invite people to begin their journey with Jesus, we have to choose a way of facilitating this moment: our chosen tact, method, and presentation.
It's therefore important to note that any chosen style or approach doesn’t imply a specific theological position on salvation. Rather, any particular style might simply be the way we present the invitation and not a reflection or indication of a particular denominational affiliation or soteriology. The same goes with any messages delivered at our events. 'Charisma' does not therefore automatically equal a charismatic denominational persuasion.
Our desire is to give every person a genuine opportunity to begin their journey with Jesus, and we aim to do this in a way that is authentic and expressed in a style that is likely to reach as widely as possible.
Connecting People to a Church (Read Hebrews 10:24–25)
We also help people find a local church community, offering options from a variety of denominations.
We don’t take on the role of defining exactly how someone must walk that out, or as to what church denomination they should join. However, we are intentional about giving people the opportunity to make their own informed, prayerful choices from a variety of options.
We celebrate our own convictions while also making space for others to follow Jesus in the tradition that they feel best nurtures their walk with Him.
// Wisdom from Church Leaders: How God Uses Art to Point Us to the Divine
In every sunrise and at every sunset, we see a glimpse of how God uses beauty: “the heavens declare the glory of God” (read Psalm 19:1). As His image-bearers (read Genesis 1), we follow that pattern. Just as artisans once shaped stained glass windows and inventors pioneered modern lighting, we too use aesthetics to help point people towards the divine.
Just as a sunset does not force a response from us, but rather, invokes one, God has given humanity the wonderful gift of our senses and of creativity to move and subsequently lift people’s eyes and hearts towards Him.
Through creation – and supremely through the incarnation – He demonstrates to us how the physical world can reveal His immanence and His transcendence. Music, lighting, birdsong in the morning, spoken word, sunrises, soundscapes, dance, drama, historic spaces, and beautiful modern spaces – God can use it all for His glory, and that's what it's all about.
These collected perspectives, spanning the breadth of Church history and tradition, bear witness to the widespread conviction that art communicates spiritual truth and draws people closer to God.
At Christian Arts UK, we seek to connect with this broad tradition, refresh it for a new audience, and embellish it in our own distinctive way. (N.B. The saints from whom we quote reflect our ecumenism, and none of them are to be taken as CAUK endorsing a specific doctrinal stance.)
