How to Create a Video on Your Phone and Upload It to the Cloud
Follow these simple steps to record, save, and share your videos using OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive. Whether you're new to cloud storage or just need a refresher, this guide will walk you through every step of the process with clear instructions and helpful tips.
Recording Your Audition Video - No Equipment Needed!
We want to see the real you! Don't worry about perfection - glitches are fine, no editing needed, and it's okay if you walk into frame. Each audition can be as short as 1 minute, but keep the total under 10 minutes.
Setting Up Your Phone
  • Find something stable to prop your phone against (stack of books, shelf, chair, leaning against a wall)
  • Alternative: Ask someone to hold it, or hold it yourself at arm's length
  • Make sure your phone is in landscape (horizontal) mode for better framing
  • Position it at eye level or slightly above - avoid looking down at the camera
Finding Your Spot
  • Stand or sit 3-4 feet away from the phone
  • Make sure your face and upper body are visible in the frame
  • Check that there's enough light - face a window or turn on room lights
  • Simple background is fine - a plain wall works great
Press Record and Go!
  • Open your Camera app and switch to Video mode
  • Press the red Record button
  • Walk into frame (totally fine!) and start your audition
  • Speak clearly and be yourself
  • When done, walk over and press Stop

Remember:
1 minute minimum per audition, 10 minutes maximum total. We care about seeing YOU, not perfect production quality!

Troubleshooting Common Upload Issues
Upload Taking Too Long?
Solution: Large video files can take time, especially on slower connections. Connect to Wi-Fi instead of cellular data for faster, more reliable uploads. Check your internet speed and consider uploading during off-peak hours.
Not Enough Storage Space?
Solution: Cloud services offer limited free storage. Delete old files you no longer need, or consider upgrading to a paid plan for more space. OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive all offer affordable monthly plans.
Upload Failed or Interrupted?
Solution: Ensure your app is updated to the latest version. Keep the app open during upload, and don't let your phone lock or sleep. If it fails, try again or restart your phone.
Can't Find Your Video After Upload?
Solution: Check the "Recent" or "My Files" section in your cloud app. Videos might also be in the default upload folder. Use the search function with your video's name or date.
